As a full-time Business Development Consultant at Relesys, you will play a pivotal role in kickstarting our expansion into the UK market where you will generate new business opportunities in the Mid- and Enterprise Retail market. Imagine being the one who opened the door for amazing client relationships like Joe & the Juice, Specsavers, Sticks'n'Sushi, Peak Performance and many more as we expand to new horizons.

In this role, you will work closely with the VP of Sales & Country Manager and Account Executives and enter an exciting career path towards becoming either a Specialist in your field, Account Executive or Account Manager in the near future. This is an exciting and transformative time to join Relesys, as we have gone into a strategic partnership with the Private Equity fund, Copilot Capital, where the coming years will bring extensive growth and opportunities along the way. Your key responsibilities:

  • Drive high quality and volume of daily outreach efforts through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, events etc. to create qualified new business meetings for the Account Executive team.
  • Identify and target new potential clients in the Retail UK market (Fashion, Beauty, Cosmetics, Home etc.).
  • Reach out and establish a relationship to key stakeholders and comprehend their specific needs and challenges to drive value.
  • Proactively acquire knowledge about the Relesys Sales Playbook, Relesys competitors and become a specialist in our product and value.
  • Build strong relationships with our Account Executives and collaborate closely to maximize the win.
  • Take ownership of your Sales Operating Rhythm and drive towards exceeding your sales targets and KPIs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Pipeline Generation: Execute high-volume outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn, and events. Minimum 60 outbound calls per day to drive predictable, high-quality pipeline. Spot, research, and engage new potential clients within the UK retail and hospitality market. Identify key stakeholders and initiate strong first-touch conversations.
  • Lead Qualification: Understand prospect needs, challenges, and priorities to determine qualification. Validate business potential and progress qualified opportunities to the Account Executive team.
  • Sales Collaboration: Work closely with AEs to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified meetings. Share insights from outreach to support better targeting and messaging.
  • Market & Product Knowledge: Become an expert in the Relesys Sales Playbook, our value proposition, and the competitive landscape. Stay sharp on industry trends in retail and hospitality.
  • Sales Discipline: Own your activity metrics, pipeline targets, and weekly sales rhythm. Continuously improve outreach quality, messaging, and conversion rates.

Career Growth at Relesys:

  • Business Development Consultant (BDC): Entry role focused entirely on mastering pipeline creation. High-volume outreach. Strong qualification. Consistency and performance against KPIs.
  • Senior BDC: For top performers ready to take on more responsibility. Mentor new BDCs. Master cold calling and objection handling. Drive stronger conversion from outreach to meetings. Contribute to outreach sequences, messaging, and best practices.
  • Enterprise BDC: Advanced commercial role before moving into closing or client-facing functions. Run structured early-stage discovery meetings. Work larger, strategic, or enterprise-level accounts. Progress opportunities until they reach a fully qualified buying stage.

Who are you?

  • 6+ months of outbound Sales Development or Business development experience in generating pipeline through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, ABMs etc.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS sales, and preferably Mid- to Enterprise clients.
  • Proven track record in articulating a strong value proposition to clients, preferably within the Retail industry.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow with Relesys on a scaling journey.
  • Outstanding communications skills across a variety of channels, enabling you to engage relevant stakeholders.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and demonstrate exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • It is an advantage to have experience with applying the MEDDPICC sales methodology, and/or Command of the Message framework.
  • It is an advantage if you have experience from the retail industry including emerging trends, challenges, and a strong understanding of key stakeholders, or you may have worked as a frontline employee yourself.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Located in UK in or near London.
