We are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team at Relax Gaming! In this role you will provide proactive legal advice across a broad range of business matters, including corporate governance, commercial, software licensing, intellectual property, and data protection issues. You will report to our General Counsel and work closely with product, marketing, finance, compliance, and IT teams and you will identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them while supporting business objectives.

This role is ideal for a professional with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience, with exposure to the gaming and technology industries being a plus. We are looking for someone to join in either of these three office locations: Isle of Man, Malta or Gibraltar.

In this role you will:

  • Provide proactive legal advice on a wide range of business matters, covering corporate, commercial, intellectual property, licensing and data protection issues.
  • Identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them while supporting business objectives.
  • Draft and review various commercial agreements, including software licensing agreements, vendor agreements, data processing agreements and partnership deals.
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements while protecting the company’s interests.
  • Manage contract disputes and assist in resolution strategies and dealing with any other post-contractual legal issues that may arise.
  • Support corporate governance matters, including the drafting of resolutions and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement internal legal policies and support the development and delivery of legal training programs to promote best practices across the organization and to manage legal risks.
  • Assist with updating and creating legal templates.
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Commercial, Finance and IT/Security teams to ensure alignment in new product launches and business initiatives and adherence to industry standards and best business practices.
  • Support and advise the business in data protection and privacy matters.
  • Assist with any additional tasks according to the needs of the company.

To succeed in this role, we think that you:

  • Are a qualified solicitor/lawyer/advocate with at least 6 years PQE either in-house or within a private practice law firm, with corporate commercial and data privacy experience.
  • Can uphold a high standard of work ethic, always ensuring to complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Have excellent contract negotiation, drafting, communication, risk assessment and legal advisory skills.
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth industry and to manage multiple legal priorities, and to prioritise competing workloads and tight deadlines.
  • Have a strong business acumen and the ability to support commercial strategy while managing legal risks.
  • Have a high level of independence and accountability and are able to act under limited supervision.
