Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a PhD qualified candidate to contribute to cutting-edge computational biology projects. Over a 12-month period, you will gain hands-on experience applying statistical genetics and computational methods to real-world therapeutic discovery challenges. As part of the Cross Indication team, you will work across multiple programme areas, applying computational techniques to multi-omics data. This team supports target identification and validation efforts, combining biological insights with state-of-the-art statistical and computational tools.
Your responsibilities
- Perform computational analyses on genomic and multi-omics datasets to support target discovery efforts.
- Apply statistical genetics techniques to infer causal mechanisms in disease.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate findings into experimental workflows.
- Develop and maintain scalable computational pipelines for genetic and functional genomics data.
- Contribute to the development of new methodologies for interpreting complex biological data.
Professionally, you have
- A PhD in statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Python (or R) for data analysis and computational modelling.
- Solid understanding of genetic association studies (e.g. GWAS, PheWAS) and statistical frameworks.
- Experience applying methods such as LD score regression, polygenic risk scoring, fine-mapping, or Mendelian randomisation.
- A preference for candidates who have applied statistical genomics in a drug discovery, target validation, or therapeutic context.
