Step into serenity at Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, where luxury meets nature in the heart of the Lake District. We’re seeking a passionate, professional Spa Therapist to join our dedicated team on a fixed‑term Maternity Leave Cover contract for approximately nine months, starting 1 September 2026. This role offers the opportunity to work in one of the region’s most tranquil and inspiring spa environments, with the possibility of extension or progression to a permanent position depending on operational needs and performance.

You’ll deliver exceptional treatments across our Spa Space, Jetty Spa, and private spa suites, each designed to offer guests a deeply personal, restorative experience. As an ESPA‑trained therapist, you will bring a refined, intuitive approach to wellness, ensuring every treatment reflects the highest standards of luxury and care.

Your Role as Spa Therapist:

  • Delivers a range of high‑end treatments including ESPA‑inspired massages, facials, and body therapies with precision, care and confidence.
  • Provides a warm, personalised experience for every guest.
  • Supports the spa team in creating a tranquil, welcoming environment.
  • Contributes to the smooth running of the spa and guest experience.
  • Maintains immaculate treatment rooms and upholds hygiene standards.
  • Recommends products and wellness routines tailored to individual needs.
  • Stays informed on the latest wellness techniques and product innovations.

What You Bring:

  • Recognised qualifications in beauty therapy and massage (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • ESPA training or experience delivering ESPA protocols, treatments, or product recommendations.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or spa environments.
  • A calm, professional demeanour with a genuine passion for guest wellbeing.
  • Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail.
  • A warm, authentic approach that aligns with Gilpin’s ethos of thoughtful, personalised hospitality.

Salary: £12.80 - £13.80 per hour (equating to £26,624 - £28,704 per annum). Gratuities are allocated on a points basis, depending on development tiers. Although variable, average levels are projected as being from £234 to £526 per month.

Hours: 40 hours per week.
