As our Workplace IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will support, maintain, and evolve the core infrastructure platforms that underpin corporate and retail technology environments at Reiss. You will ensure the stability, security, and availability of infrastructure services across office-based, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure platforms, acting as a 3rd line escalation point for complex infrastructure issues. This hands-on, delivery-focused role provides accountability for infrastructure reliability, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with the Workplace IT Support Lead, central IT teams, and third-party partners to deliver resilient, secure, and high-performing infrastructure services that support Reiss’ operational and technology needs.
Who you are
- Demonstrates strong technical expertise in Windows Server, virtualisation, storage, and hybrid/cloud infrastructure, with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues independently.
- Solid experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), managing users, groups, and authentication policies across hybrid environments.
- Confident acting as a 3rd line escalation point, providing technical leadership during critical incidents, outages, and recovery activities.
- Practical knowledge of networking and firewall technologies, able to troubleshoot effectively while collaborating with specialist network teams.
- Skilled in infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, using metrics to identify, analyse, and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Methodical, calm, and structured under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on operational resilience.
- Communicates clearly with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, able to explain complex infrastructure concepts in simple terms.
- Proactive and improvement-focused, identifying opportunities for automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement in infrastructure services.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure services including servers, virtualisation platforms, storage, identity services, and cloud environments, ensuring performance, resilience, and scalability.
- Act as the 3rd line escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents, providing technical leadership during outages and recovery activities to minimise business impact.
- Administer and support Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user, group, and device management, synchronisation, and authentication policies.
- Support foundational network and firewall operations, collaborating with specialist network engineers for escalated issues and ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
- Plan and execute system patching, updates, and infrastructure lifecycle management, including upgrades, migrations, decommissioning of legacy systems, and vendor support renewals.
- Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity using appropriate tooling, analysing logs and metrics to proactively prevent incidents and optimise resources.
- Participate in change management processes, assessing risk, documenting changes, and implementing preventative actions to maintain operational stability.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities, including automation, standardisation, and integration with applications and security systems, supporting infrastructure roadmaps and modernisation initiatives.
