As our Menswear Outerwear Designer, you’ll lead the design and development of seasonal outerwear collections that reflect the Reiss brand DNA and support the wider Menswear design direction.

From initial research and concept development through to final product, you’ll create modern, elevated and commercially relevant outerwear that responds to the customer and competitive market.

Working closely with the wider Design, Buying and Product Development teams, you’ll bring a strong creative vision alongside a clear understanding of fabrics, trims, trends and commercial opportunities to continuously evolve the Reiss outerwear offering.

This position is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Who you are

  • You’ll have previous experience designing Menswear

Outerwear, with a strong understanding of the category and its construction.

  • A creative and commercially minded designer with a strong eye for detail, colour, fabric and proportion.
  • Confident researching trends, competitors and market developments, with the ability to translate insight into relevant product opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of the Reiss aesthetic, with the ability to design product that feels modern, elevated and commercially relevant.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple styles and deadlines while working effectively within a seasonal critical path.
  • A strong collaborator and communicator who can confidently work with Design, Buying and Product Development teams to bring concepts through to final product.

  • Leading the design and development of the Menswear

Outerwear category across seasonal collections, from initial concept through to final product.

  • Researching trends, fabrics, colours, competitors and market developments to inform seasonal design direction and identify new opportunities for Reiss.
  • Developing outerwear concepts and collections that balance creativity, commerciality and the Reiss brand DNA, ready to present to Buying and wider teams.
  • Creating and developing designs with a strong focus on product, ensuring silhouettes, details and functionality are considered throughout the development process.
  • Sourcing and developing new fabrics, trims and relevant materials that bring freshness and innovation to the collection.
  • Working closely with Product Development to ensure designs are achievable, commercially viable and developed to the required quality and margin.
  • Maintaining a strong awareness of the competitive market, identifying gaps and opportunities to strengthen the Reiss outerwear offer.
