We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to play a key role in driving the success of our Womenswear Petite range. You will support the Merchandiser in planning, trading and stock management, ensuring decisions are implemented quickly and effectively across the product lifecycle. A core part of the role will be guiding and developing junior team members, helping build capability and ensuring the wider Merch team operates with efficiency and clarity. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a growing category, working closely with Buying, Product Development and Technical to deliver exceptional product for the Petite customer.

Who you are

  • You have previous experience in Merchandising within a head office retail environment.
  • Highly analytical with strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability.
  • Accustomed to managing data, forecasting demand and supporting in-season decisions.
  • Able to influence, challenge and communicate confidently with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Organised, deadline-driven and able to manage your own priorities effectively.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys coaching and supporting junior talent.

What you will be doing

  • Playing a key role in managing the Petite range plan end-to-end, ensuring accuracy of data and timely raising of purchase orders.
  • Keeping PO trackers updated and working with Product Development and Buying so no information or action is missed.
  • Building reports and insights through Board to support range reviews and lessons-learned analysis with senior management.
  • Leading in-season trading for allocated Petite categories, including analysing performance, presenting at trade meetings and recommending actions.
  • Challenging suppliers on delivery issues, proposing commercial solutions and supporting the Merchandiser on negotiation strategies.
  • Ensuring progress-meeting actions across Buying, Merch and Tech are completed to safeguard delivery and product availability.
  • Managing line-carded product to avoid out-of-stocks, accurately forecasting sales and stock movements to maintain continuity.
  • Monitoring online performance, intake and phasing, flagging risks early and recommending changes to future buys, stock flow or cancellations.
  • Owning your workload, building effective cross-functional relationships and becoming a key voice within the team.
  • Acting as first point of contact for Merchandising across the Petite supply base and supporting the development of the Trainee Merchandiser.
