As part of our Finance team, you’ll be joining as our Management Accountant responsible for supporting the production of the group’s monthly management accounts. The role works closely with budget holders providing detailed reporting and variance analysis, prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supports the year-end audit process. The role will also be involved with driving continuous improvements to financial reporting and controls, with opportunities to be involved in other finance ad hoc projects.
Who you are
- Fully qualified or newly qualified accountant ideally but open to finalist level applications
- Excellent Excel and systems knowledge. Business Central / Dynamic 365 knowledge would be advantageous
- Experience within a retail / fashion business would be advantageous but not essential
- Well organised, self‑motivated with strong communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
What you’ll be doing
- Take ownership of costs reporting, including the preparation and posting of monthly accruals, prepayments and apportionments across the UK, US and EU locations
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with a particular focus on accrual and prepayment reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities
- Ownership of property reporting, including IFRS 16, turnover reporting and balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare variance analysis of monthly actuals compared to forecast supported by clear and insightful commentary
- Support the FP&A team in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Assist the Group Financial Accountant with the interim and year‑end audit deliverables
- Supporting auditors by providing samples, explanations and audit backup
