We’re looking for an Assistant Designer to support our Menswear Design team, working across the development of seasonal collections. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a similar position with hands-on exposure in a menswear design environment. You’ll have a strong interest in menswear, a clean and modern aesthetic aligned with the Reiss brand, and a real desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced design studio.
Working closely with the Senior Design team, Product Development, Technical and Fabric teams, you’ll support the design process from initial concept through to buy, contributing to CADs, specs, fabric sourcing, sampling and presentations.
Who you are
- Passionate about menswear design with a strong understanding of the Reiss DNA and aesthetic
- Previous experience in a menswear design role
- Confident using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong sketching and CAD skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Curious, proactive and keen to contribute ideas and develop creatively
- Strong attention to detail, with an eye for print, graphics and seasonal trends
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the design and development of seasonal collections across jersey, hybrid, lounge and collaboration categories
- Creating detailed sketches, CADs, colourways and technical specification packs for factory use
- Working closely with the Technical team to ensure proto expectations are met and designs translate accurately into samples
- Assisting with fabric selection alongside the Senior Design team and Fabric department, ensuring choices align with design vision and budget
- Supporting fabric sourcing, building and maintaining the seasonal fabric archive, and working with mills and suppliers
- Managing seasonal samples, including tracking, logging, storage and organisation in line with the critical path
- Coordinating lab dips, sampling materials and ensuring all materials are ordered on time
- Conducting trend and market research, supporting concept development, and contributing to research boards and presentations
- Attending fit sessions, block reviews and working with Technical and Fabric teams on garment fit and quality
- Presenting sketches, CADs, concepts and research to the Senior Design team and Line Manager
