Overview
In this role, you will lead regional underwriting, claims, medical and biometric risk across EMEA, shaping the strategy to improve client value and profitability. You will drive transformation through people, processes and technology, leveraging data, analytics and partnerships to innovate risk solutions. As a senior regional leader, you will develop talent, governance, and an operating model that aligns with enterprise objectives while advancing biometric capabilities. You’ll collaborate with executives and external partners to propel profitable growth and thought leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a unified regional strategy for underwriting, claims, medical and biometric risk in line with enterprise goals
- Drive transformation and continuous improvement across people, processes and systems
- Leverage AI, data and technology to enable end-to-end processes and productivity gains
- Establish governance, ownership and decision-making frameworks for the region
- Identify and mobilise leaders and experts to support the regional operating model
- Act as senior functional leader for underwriting, claims, medical and biometric risk across EMEA
- Embed biometric insights into pricing, risk selection and management
- Pioneer innovative reinsurance and biometric solutions through data and partnerships
- Support research and innovation to anticipate trends and regulatory changes
- Strengthen market position through thought leadership and strategic client engagement
- Forge partnerships with technology firms, data providers and academic institutions
Key requirements
- 10+ years in life and health insurance or reinsurance with experience in underwriting, claims, medical risk, biometric risk, actuarial modelling, pricing or ERM
- Senior leadership experience in strategy, operations and transformation across markets or functions
- Proven ability to lead complex operating models and technology-enabled change initiatives
- Strong track record using advanced analytics, predictive modelling and emerging data sources
- Experience influencing executive leadership, clients and external stakeholders to support growth
- Preferred SVP or executive leadership experience in relevant functions
- Deep understanding of biometric risk factors, pricing and capital management
- Experience establishing strategic partnerships with external entities
- Transformation and governance leadership across regions and functions
- People leadership and talent development skills
- Ability to communicate complex risk and commercial concepts to stakeholders
