Head of Underwriting, Claims & Medical Operations ( Open to all RGA EMEA locations)

b Overview /b p In this role, you lead the regional underwriting, claims and medical operations to create a scalable, risk-controlled service model across EMEA. You partner with regional leadership to deliver governance, quality assurance and data-driven performance insights that enable efficient operations. You’ll balance regional standards with local regulatory needs while driving continuous improvement and transformation. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape regional operations for a global life and health reinsurance leader. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Develop and implement a regional operational strategy and governance framework for underwriting, claims and medical activities in EMEA /li li Establish consistent controls, procedures, manuals and oversight aligned to market-specific and regulatory requirements /li li Lead regional quality assurance and risk management, monitoring outcomes and coordinating remediation actions /li li Ensure underwriting authorities are appropriate and regularly reviewed to meet business needs /li li Create data-driven performance frameworks and dashboards to monitor productivity, quality, capacity, workload and client service /li li Oversee regional resource planning and shared services to optimize underwriting, medical and claims resources across EMEA /li li Collaborate with regional leadership to share best practices and deliver the EMEA strategy /li li Support new systems, digital capabilities, and automation with effective controls, adoption plans and metrics /li li Act as NEXUS Regional Business Owner for EMEA and drive a high-performing, governance-focused operations function /li li Promote governance, quality, performance, capability development and continuous improvement across the region /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Relevant qualification in life/health insurance, reinsurance operations, risk management, underwriting, claims, operational management or related discipline /li li Significant experience in life and health insurance or reinsurance operations /li li Proven leadership in underwriting, claims, operational management or related functions /li li Experience developing governance, quality assurance and performance management frameworks /li li Experience leading operational improvement, transformation or change initiatives /li li Strong use of management information and data analytics to drive decisions /li li Experience across multiple markets, business units or jurisdictions /li li Experience in a shared services or regional operations environment (preferred) /li li Experience supporting digital transformation or automation programs (preferred) /li li Ability to interpret and communicate complex operational data and MI /li li Strong governance, risk management, QA and control mindset /li li Ability to lead regional strategy across multiple markets /li li Strong stakeholder management and influencing across functions and geographies /li li Ability to balance regional consistency with local requirements /li li Strong organisational, prioritisation and project management skills /li li Ability to drive operational excellence and measurable outcomes /li li Collaborative, matrix-working mindset /li li Ability to support technology, automation and transformation initiatives (operational readiness) (preferred) /li /ul ul li stakeholder management /li li collaboration /li li influencing across senior leadership /li li management information systems /li li data analytics /li li dashboard reporting /li /ul
