A Brief Overview
Under minimal supervision, provide experienced legal services and advice, including drafting and negotiation of financing, corporate and reinsurance agreements and other documents. Provide experienced level of timely, high-quality legal advice and assistance to business colleagues with an emphasis on financing, corporate and reinsurance issues and transactions. Proactively serve clients and others with a responsive, service-oriented attitude and strong work ethic.
What you will do
- Collaborate and communicate with members of the legal team and business stakeholders to perform assignments and projects involving an advanced level of complexity.
- Provide experienced level of timely, high-quality legal advice and support to business clients.
- Proactively serve clients and demonstrate a strong work ethic while appropriately escalating matters.
- Draft, prepare and negotiate independently, and in collaboration with senior legal attorneys and business clients, reinsurance, financing, acquisition and joint venture documents and other essential legal documents.
- Apply substantial knowledge and experience to identify legal issues and provide advice on alternatives to mitigate risk to the enterprise while achieving client goals and objectives.
- Assist, as needed, in due diligence and document review and preparation processes in connection with transactional matters.
- Research, analyze and provide considered legal and strategic advice.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Licensed to practice law in the UK.
- Experience as an attorney in a law firm or in-house.
- Business, finance or accounting degree or experience; working knowledge of concepts, terminology and practices.
Preferred:
- Experience in a global business enterprise with operations on various continents with different legal systems and cultures.
- Experience with reinsurance or financing concepts and transactions.
Skills and Abilities
- Experienced, senior-level knowledge of UK and CE laws and regulations, and a commitment to acquire knowledge of other laws and regulations.
- Substantial and experienced knowledge of legal and contract terminology and methods, general business and financial knowledge.
- Working knowledge of financial services operations and products.
- Experienced ability to identify and interpret business and contract issues.
- Experienced client counseling skills in translating business needs and problems into viable and accepted solutions.
- Excellent client service and interpersonal skills, with continual focus and dedication to high level of client service.
- Excellent skills with respect to drafting, review, proofreading, negotiation, persuasion, and oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly present appropriate business terminology and concepts.
- Serve clients and provide legal services and advice at a level commensurate with a senior associate or junior partner at a law firm.
- Highly organized and results oriented with strong attention to detail.
- Seasoned time management skills and commitment to meet deadlines.
- Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload to deliver results on a timely basis.
- Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
