An established and growing main contractor is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join the delivery team on a newly secured £11m RC frame storage facility in Woodford Green.

Starting in September with a 52-week programme, this is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with strong industrial or commercial construction experience to join the project from the outset and see it through to completion.

You will report directly to an experienced Senior Project Manager, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of site and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards.

The Role

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the construction site
  • Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site labour
  • Driving the construction programme and monitoring progress against key milestones
  • Managing site logistics, deliveries, access and sequencing of works
  • Chairing and contributing to subcontractor and site coordination meetings
  • Reviewing RAMS and ensuring works are carried out safely
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and maintaining high health & safety standards
  • Monitoring workmanship and managing quality control
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications with the project team
  • Identifying programme risks and resolving site issues before they impact delivery
  • Coordinating closely with design, commercial and project management teams
  • Maintaining accurate site records, reports and progress updates
  • Managing snagging and quality inspections
  • Supporting the Senior Project Manager through to practical completion and handover

The Project

You will be joining at the beginning of a £11m new build storage facility in Woodford Green, incorporating a substantial reinforced concrete frame and associated industrial construction works. The project has a planned 52-week programme starting in September, giving you the opportunity to take ownership from the early stages through to completion.

What They Are Looking For

This position requires an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record delivering commercial construction projects.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong experience working as a Site Manager for a main contractor
  • Previous industrial or commercial new build experience
  • Experience delivering projects of a similar scale and complexity
  • RC frame experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management
  • Experience managing multiple subcontract packages and trades
  • Excellent health & safety and quality management standards
  • Confidence managing subcontractors and driving progress on site
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid

Salary & Opportunity
