The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established and growing residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Development Manager to join their expanding team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for overseeing residential development opportunities from early feasibility through to delivery handover. You'll play a central role in shaping and driving schemes forward, ensuring sites are viable, well-planned, and successfully progressed through the development lifecycle. If you are commercially minded, confident in managing complex schemes, and experienced in residential development delivery, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing residential development projects from initial appraisal through to pre-construction and handover
  • Working closely with land, commercial, technical and delivery teams to ensure schemes are viable and deliverable
  • Overseeing feasibility assessments, planning inputs, and development appraisals
  • Coordinating external consultants including architects, planners, engineers and cost consultants
  • Supporting planning applications and managing conditions through to approval
  • Preparing and reviewing development budgets, programmes and financial appraisals
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure projects are aligned with business objectives
  • Identifying and mitigating development risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting the wider development function with additional duties as required

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
  • Proven track record in residential development or development management
  • Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle from feasibility to delivery
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors and internal delivery teams
  • Good knowledge of planning processes and development viability
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working on multi-unit residential schemes is highly desirable
