The SoftwareOne Marketplace Platform Team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (.Net) who enjoys working with the latest technologies and practices and is inspired to learn new things in new ways. You will be part of a 60 strong engineering team that prides itself on understanding the business that we support and evolve. Our approach to platform engineering aims to build SoftwareOne’s online marketplace, client interfaces, internal integrations and external vendor relations to a world-class standard. Our philosophies include establishing a blame-free environment focused on continuous improvement. We strive to live a feedback culture that keeps an open mind to new ideas and productively challenges the ones we do not understand.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with your Engineering Manager to maintain accountability for performance in your team.
- Be a leader through “doing”, demonstrating to and mentoring your team on performant engineering.
- Work closely with Product Managers to ensure your product-focused, cross-functional team is integrated into the success of the business.
- Drive technical design sessions, retrospectives, code reviews, etc.
- Contribute to the hiring strategy and professional development of your teams.
What we need to see from you
- Significant experience as an architect, staff, or principal engineer in a SaaS environment.
- Served as a technical lead and defined implementation approaches for complex projects with multiple teams.
- A strong bias to action, to ensure agile and cohesive contributions to the wider organization.
- Experience in mentoring/influencing engineers across organizations.
- Comfort with C#/.NET containerized applications in a multi-region, highly available environment.
