Our client is a highly successful global subscription and events business in the financial sector now poised for even greater growth with private equity funding. It now wants to hire a senior-level strategist, operating at a senior level across the global business to define and own the data strategy to achieve the growth objectives. You will be expected to introduce ongoing data enhancement and hygiene as well as:
- Transform the data department to a profit centre and manage a small data team
- Increase revenues from specific segments by better understanding customer behaviours
- Improve data quality and improve stakeholder confidence in the tagging and segmentation
- Produce industry best-practice data governance and subscriptions-reporting covering renewal, churn and usage
- Ensure team members have the right skill-sets to manage the technology and processes
This would involve:
- Building an annual program of list research to feed the conference portfolio
- Identifying new data segments to promote event products
- Using Bright Target to create customer segments
- Building processes for automated renewal files for sales and marketing campaigns
- Working with data agency to develop existing and new products
- Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations
We’re looking for:
- At least eight years in B2B data, with at least 2 years in a strategic role with line and external agency management, including contract and pricing negotiations
- An analytical and commercial thinker with a track record of implementing data-led initiatives generating measurable increases in revenue, ideally in a B2B events business
- An interest and aptitude in data analytics and current trends in commercial data science
- Proficient with Excel, Access, SQL, predictive modelling, data profiling and segmentation
