Reignite Purpose is recruiting on behalf of one of their clients; a University campus based in East London. With a great location and access to facilities; situated in the heart of the Docklands in East London, the offices and environment support high performing teams and create a culture of belonging and engagement.

This is a full-time, on-site role for an HR Officer located in Poplar, East London, UK. Please contact me directly or advise if any reasonable adjustments and/or considerations may be required to access the role, interview or carry out the position.

Purpose

The HR Administrator provides efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources function within the university. The role ensures the accurate management of employee records, supports recruitment activities, and assists in delivering effective HR processes for permanent, temporary, and part-time staff. The postholder plays a key role in maintaining compliance, confidentiality, and high service standards across the HR team.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records for all staff, including permanent, temporary, and part-time employees
  • Manage and organise HR files (both electronic and paper-based) in line with data protection regulations
  • Process HR documentation such as contracts, offer letters, amendments, and leavers’ paperwork
  • Ensure data integrity within HR systems and databases

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, application tracking, and interview coordination
  • Liaise with hiring managers and candidates to arrange interviews and assessments
  • Prepare offer documentation and contracts of employment
  • Coordinate onboarding processes, ensuring all pre-employment checks (e.g., right to work, references) are completed
  • Facilitate induction processes for new staff

HR Processes & Compliance

  • Assist in the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and university policies
  • Support processes such as probation reviews, contract renewals, and staff changes
  • Monitor and track key HR activities and deadlines

Employee Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries from staff
  • Provide guidance on basic HR policies and procedures
  • Support employee lifecycle activities, including starters, movers, and leavers

Team Support

  • Provide administrative support to the wider HR team across various projects and initiatives
  • Assist with HR reporting and data preparation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and systems
