The Post
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated teacher to join the highly successful Travel and Tourism Department. The post is available from 1 January 2027 on a permanent, part-time (57.14%). For this academic year the days of work will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided.
All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little, or no experience teaching BTEC Travel and Tourism are still encouraged to apply, as the Department are able to support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching.
The Department
The Department is housed in the Business Centre with classrooms that are fully equipped with data projectors and whiteboards.
The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Event Management, Tourism Management and Hospitality Management, as well as jobs in the travel and tourism industry.
The Department consists of four other teachers, who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials.

Courses
The Department offers BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Travel & Tourism.
The salary for this post is up to Β£30,416.76 per annum (FTE Β£53,232).
The contact time for a full-time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor). ECTs receive a 5% or 10% reduction on their timetable depending on whether they are a first or second year ECT.
