The Post The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join the highly successful Geography Department. The post is available from 1 January 2027 to 31 August 2027 on a fixed-term, full or part-time (80.95% to 100%). However, there may be scope to extend the post to the end of January 2028. The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided. All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little, or no experience teaching A Level Geography are still encouraged to apply, as the Department are able to support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching. The Department is housed in the Langham Building with classrooms that are fully equipped with data projectors and white boards. The Department also has access to mobile learning technologies to further enhance learning. The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Geography, International Relations and Environmental Science. The Department consists of five other teachers, who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials. Courses The Department offers Geography A Level, studied on the Pearson Edexcel syllabus. The Department operates 'Plus' classes, designed to improve student performance within the timetabled periods. The full-time equivalent salary for this post is up to £53,232 per annum. The contact time for a full-time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor).
