The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Safeguarding and Interventions Support Manager toprovide a first response for student interventions across the College and deliver targeted support and intervention programmes. The successful applicant will support the Assistant Principal (Safeguarding and Interventions), act as a proactive member of the College Safeguarding Team and undertake the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), deputising for the DSL when required.

Applicants should have pastoral experience and a strong understanding of pastoral support, intervention and student welfare policies and procedures. A good understanding of safeguarding practice and statutory guidance is essential and experience of managing complex student support or intervention cases is desirable.

The post requires taking an active role in key College activities including enrolment, progression and careers events, parent events, all Open Evenings, introductory activities, student interviews (during the working day and 4 evenings per academic year) and partner school events. This includes participation in five days of post-examination results support during the summer holiday period, scheduled annually according to the needs of the College and agreed with the Line Manager. These may be scheduled as individual days or in blocks.

The post is available on a permanent, full-time, term-time only basis plus one week of holiday working (40 weeks per year) (87.81%). The hours of work are from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break.

The Department

The Department is based in the main office of the Langham Building, which is shared with the Student Services, Trips and Admissions.

The starting salary for the post is £28,906.17 (FTE £32,919). Progression is on an annual increment scale to £30,565.78 per annum (FTE £34,809).
