The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking Course Leader to join the Product Design and Engineering Department and manage the Engineering (Year 1) course. The post is available on a permanent, full or part-time basis (57.14% to 100%) from 24 August 2026. The full-time teaching contact time at Reigate College is 21 hours per week.

Our ideal person will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in delivering the highest standards and achieving outstanding results. The post holder must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work. This post would equally suit an experienced Course Leader/Head of Department or someone looking for their first management role.

The Department is housed in the County Building in modern, fully equipped classrooms including smart boards. The team consists of three other teachers and two technicians who work in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology and Product Design.

The Department works closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials and thus the co-operative construction of Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans. The Department also operates a number of ‘Plus’ classes, designed to improve student performance as part of the timetabled periods.

There is currently a Course Leader vacancy. The successful applicant will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the Year 1 course, as well as the monitoring of student performance throughout the qualification. The full-time salary for this post is up to £53,232 per annum, plus £843.25 per annum for the course leader responsibility.
