Our Recycling & Refuse Team perform a key role in providing an excellent recycling and refuse collection service to the Council's residents. You will be able to work outdoors in all weathers, and deal with a very physically demanding job. It is essential that you are a team player and can communicate with your colleagues and customers, clearly and politely; showing a clear understanding of what good customer care is. Compliance with health and safety guidance is very important for you, team members and the public, due to the heavy lifting machinery, dust, and fumes. Guidance, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided to all successful candidates.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Commit to start the day at 7am and work a 18‑hour week Tuesday to Thursday
- Have a clean driving licence (speeding points will be discussed) to drive a 3.5‑tonne vehicle and a current, up‑to‑date CPC
- Have a basic standard of English and Maths and be capable of stock control
- Have basic computer skills (required to operate in‑cab tablet)
- Have a good knowledge of Health and Safety
- Have previous experience of working outdoors in all weathers
- Demonstrate good customer care skills
