Job Title: Senior Business Support Officer
Location of work: Town Hall
Basis: Permanent / Full time
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Business Support Officer to take on the day to day management of our Environmental Health & Licensing’s Business Support (Administration) Team. Alongside a range of administrative duties, this role will involve line management and operational oversight of the busy team of five administrators.
Typical duties will include: responding to requests from members of the public, customers, staff and Councillors, managing the departmental phone lines, processing and issuing of licence applications, environmental protection nuisance complaints, health and safety and food safety, alongside the various duties that come with leading and managingthe team.
About the Person
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
·Previous office administration experience;
·Previous experience of managing people;
·Confidence in face to face, telephone and written communications;
·Excellent organisational,problem solving and innovative skills;
·Excellent interpersonal and team working skills;
·An ability to multi task and be comfortable dipping in and out of different tasks as required;
·Experience in drafting and revisingpolicies and technical working procedures;
·Advantageous to have a familiarity with raising, approving and checking financial information (Purchase Orders).
·Excellent IT skills and an aptitude for picking up bespoke software programmes. Good knowledge of Microsoft products like Outlook, Word and Excel is essential; and,
· Strong attention to detail.
