The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful commissioning of generators nationwide. Working closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and field technicians, you will ensure that installations are delivered, tested, and fully operational to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Attending site planning and coordination meetings with Project/Site Managers and clients.
- Conducting site visits to assess installations and prepare for commissioning.
- Developing commissioning plans and schedules in collaboration with project teams.
- Reviewing and signing off RAMS and ensuring strict compliance with H&S protocols.
- Managing and overseeing the full commissioning process for each project.
- Performing functional tests, load bank tests, and performance testing.
- Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and escalating issues where required.
- Conducting FAT and SAT, producing detailed snagging and test reports.
- Training end‑users on generator operation and maintenance.
The Person
- NVQ or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Electrically qualified & registered, with City & Guilds 18th Edition (or equivalent).
- Experience working with generators is desirable.
- Ability to interpret and follow electrical drawings and schedules.
- Confident in completing risk assessments and understanding safe systems of work.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot on‑site.
- Willing to travel nationwide and work away from home (with full compensation package).
- Full UK driving licence.

- £55k – £70k OTE (with overtime after 40 hours).
- 10% or 15% additional uplift on wage (depending on postcode).
- Door‑to‑door pay, company van, and fuel card.
- Fully covered hotel, travel, and food expenses while working away.
