The Role

You’ll be supporting the commercial team across a range of post contract activities within generator installation projects across the construction sector. This role offers the chance to take ownership of smaller projects while also supporting senior QSs on large scale hyperscale works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculating quantities and material costs with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Working closely with the Projects Department to ensure all works are effectively risk managed.
  • Ensuring all project costs are monitored, controlled, processed, and adhered to.
  • Providing daily support to the Quantity Surveyor on active projects.
  • Preparing detailed cash flow projections.
  • Proactively and reactively resolving commercial or project related issues.
  • Producing clear and accurate commercial reports.
  • Minimising commercial risk and ensuring compliance with all site and WBPS Health & Safety requirements.
  • Attending client meetings and representing the business professionally.
  • Carrying out site visits as required (UK wide).

The Person

We’re looking for someone who is either newly qualified or already experienced in an Assistant QS role and ready to progress. Mechanical or M&E project experience is desirable but not essential. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong IT skills and willingness to learn our internal ERP system. High numerical ability with strong problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, growing business. Good understanding of surveying and estimating principles. Confident dealing with a wide range of clients across different industries. Full UK driving licence (essential for site visits).
