Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a sheet metal or industrial environment.
  • Good understanding of ISO9001 and adherence to all Wiltech Ltd policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively clean, prepare, and prime steel units to a high standard.
  • Experience with masking, filling, polishing, and colour‑matching techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control and defect identification.
  • Familiarity with paint mixing to ensure a perfect colour match.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining productivity without compromising quality.
  • Must be able to use and maintain relevant equipment and tooling.
  • Comfortable using personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills to update team leaders on progress and potential issues.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: Clean, key, and seal steel units to the highest standard in preparation for spraying.
  • Priming and Painting: Apply primer and other coatings using rollers with precision to ensure smooth, even coverage.
  • Filler Work: Apply filler and perform related tasks to create a perfect surface for painting.
  • Masking and Polishing: Mask up areas not to be painted and polish surfaces to a high standard before applying finishes.
  • Colour Matching and Mixing: Accurately match colours and mix paints to ensure consistency and a perfect finish.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure there are no defects, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • PPE Compliance: Always wear appropriate PPE to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Time and Progress Reporting: Report to the team leader on project progress and highlight any issues or delays.
  • Safety Standards: Adhere to all workplace safety standards, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Documentation: Ensure that timesheets are completed accurately and submitted to the team leader each week.
  • Overtime: After 38 hours enhanced pay for overtime.
