We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of complex energy and engineering projects at Clarke Energy. Working closely with senior project leadership, this role will play a key part in the day‑to‑day coordination of projects across their full lifecycle – from design through execution and commissioning – ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with client and Clarke Energy expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in the planning, organisation and management of allocated projects across design, execution and commissioning phases.
  • Assist with the allocation and coordination of resources, including Clarke Energy staff, site teams and subcontractors, helping to ensure delivery against agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
  • Help schedule and coordinate project meetings, including design reviews, execution meetings and commissioning meetings, ensuring actions are captured and followed up.
  • Assist in maintaining project governance and compliance with Clarke Energy project management processes.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand and interpret project requirements, highlighting any deviations or contract variations to the Project Manager.
  • Support the development of detailed project plans covering technical, commercial and installation activities for progress tracking and reporting.
  • Take minutes and distribute actions following meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with monitoring project progress, proactively identifying risks, issues or delays and escalating them in a timely manner.
  • Support negotiation activities with contractors and suppliers by gathering information to help secure best value solutions.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements are fully incorporated into project plans and adhered to at all stages.
  • Help build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience assisting Project Managers within an engineering or construction environment.
  • Understanding of project management principles and lifecycle delivery.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
