The vacancy is for our newly open service in Bradford for clients with learning disability and complex care needs, where people we support are at the forefront of this mission.

The Role

To be accountable to the Team Leader for leading the team and to participate in direct care of the service users. Ensure the team works in a pro-active, responsive, effective and person-centred way to ensure that the lives of the people you and the team are enriched.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage rotas ensuring these are used to the best effect for the physical, social and emotional care of the service users, including staff scheduling and payroll accuracy.
  • Be a key member of the rostering team and take responsibility for all elements of the rostering process to ensure adequate shift coverage and correct payroll submission.
  • Ensure agency staff are only used as a last resort and are approved appropriately.
  • Ensure that all agency staff undergo induction.
  • Provide flexible cover for colleagues in the event of holidays, sickness and emergencies.
  • Lead, direct, supervise and support staff working within the service in providing a responsive network of services that meet individual needs.
  • Ensure the Support Workers endorse Rehability’s values.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication so that employees are fully conversant with their duties.
  • Undertake supervisions and appraisals.
  • Ensure all medications, including controlled drugs are administered, recorded, maintained and replenished at all times in accordance with the Medications Policy.
  • Ensure care is delivered in accordance with the Care Plan.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and re-evaluate care needs in partnership with the service user.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and service user reviews.
  • Participate in the local on-call rota and on-call duties.
  • With support from the Line Manager, ensure the services provided adhere to Rehability UK values, organisational policies, procedures and work practices including service and CQC requirements.
  • Support the Team Manager to implement, monitor and review health and safety practice in all aspects of the service, including risk assessments, to ensure full compliance with policy, procedure and statutory requirements.
  • Carry out statutory Fire Safety Checks.
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are reported and recorded in compliance with the Health and Safety Policy.
  • Carry out Health and Safety inspections including service vehicles and household.
  • Monitor the Health, Safety and Well-being of Service Users.
  • Perform any other duties necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the service in respect of service users, staff, professional practice or administrative procedures.
  • Support the service user to develop their social and personal skills providing encouragement and support both in their home and in the community.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience of working with people with Learning Difficulties, Mental Health, Autism or Complex Needs.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • QCF Level 3 or working towards.
  • Hold a current driving licence.
