We are looking for an accountancy professional to join us as a Senior Financial Analysis Manager at the Regulator of Social Housing. The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) regulates a viable, efficient, and well‑governed social housing sector, setting standards and carrying out robust regulation to deliver quality homes and services for current and future tenants.

About the role

As a Senior Financial Analysis Manager, you will play a key role in leading our engagement with providers. You will lead planned inspections with registered providers, maintain ongoing relationships for a portfolio, and manage both planned and reactive regulatory engagement. This includes oversight of reviews of financial information and, where appropriate, taking a hands‑on role for the most complex and higher‑risk providers. You will be part of the leadership team and instrumental in the continued development of our teams and approaches to our work.

You will use your professional skills to assess and articulate the level of financial risk faced by individual providers, applying your expertise in varied environments, engaging directly with providers, anticipating risks, and working with colleagues to agree on next steps. You will build a clear understanding of the financial, economic and governance risks that large‑scale social landlords face, including the impact of the external economic climate and a range of treasury considerations. Working on a portfolio of providers, you will use detailed financial information, business intelligence models, landlord intelligence and your own analysis to develop robust, blended assessments of landlords’ financial strength.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have a financial background and a relevant professional qualification, and you will demonstrate excellent analytical skills and sound professional judgement. You should be able to appraise financial performance and business strategy, reach conclusions and understand regulation, good governance, and risk‑management principles. You must also be able to apply your experience to engage effectively with senior managers and boards of providers credibly. Candidates must have valid right to work in the UK, as we are unable to provide sponsorship.

Benefits

At RSH, we offer a competitive salary within a given range and a range of excellent benefits. These include a 35‑hour working week, 33 days annual leave, access to the Civil Service Pension Scheme, a staff discount scheme, cycle‑to‑work scheme, and a Nuffield Health Screening. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements support work‑life balance.

Location

We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working, and offer a range of flexible working arrangements. This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Bristol. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

Commitment to equality and diversity

Our anonymous shortlisting process helps to ensure fair and consistent recruitment decisions, based solely on skills and experience. We are a Disability Confident Employer and shortlist those who best meet the minimum criteria. We are passionate about building a diverse and inclusive workplace, where everyone feels valued and respected and has the opportunity to thrive. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, beliefs, identities and life experiences, recognising that varied perspectives enrich our organisation.
