Summary
The Regulator of Social Housing is seeking an Information Governance Officer to support the Data Protection, Information Access and Complaints team within the wider Legal team. The role is essential to the regulator’s approach to compliance with data protection and information access legislation and to learning from and responding to complaints.
Job Description
As the Information Governance Officer you will assist with responses to information requests made to the regulator under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, FOIA, EIR, and requests to re‑use information.
- Log, acknowledge, consider and help respond to information requests, ensuring they are timely, accurate and compliant.
- Provide updates on the team’s progress and signpost staff to relevant policies and procedures.
- Advise regulator staff on compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
- Ensure the regulator’s publication scheme, a FOIA requirement, is up to date and meets ICO requirements.
- Monitor completion of mandatory annual and induction data protection training for staff.
Qualifications
- Experience of responding to or assisting with information requests.
- Strong knowledge of, and commitment to, information governance, data protection, and complaints work.
- Excellent people and communication skills.
- Well‑organised, a team player, able to prioritise, problem‑solve and manage a varied workload under strict deadlines.
- Self‑motivated and approachable.
Location and Working Arrangements
Hybrid model of office and home working with flexible arrangements. This role can be based out of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol.

Salary is within the range £33,678 – 37,225, typically at the minimum of the range. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award.
