Overall responsibility
Overseeing and leading a Static Vertical Cleaning Team, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently, aligning to the expected high standards and to the agreed work schedule.
The role may also require you to carry out vertical cleaning duties where necessary.
To ensure Health & Safety guidelines and legislation are always adhered to, and to report on and investigate, any non-compliance or non-completion, finding solutions to make improvements.

- Key areas of responsibility
- Leadership
- Ensure tasks are completed in line with the work scheduling and the cleaning specification, using In-House Proof of service technology.
- Ensure all tasks are delivered with maximum efficiency based on productive hours, effectively managing periods of absence, and to organise alternative work when necessary.
- Ensure the team accurately report any work that has not been completed, or of any problems that may have arisen in a timely manner.
- Ensure the use of vertical cleaning technology such as proof of service is implemented across the teams and used in the correct manner.
- Where necessary, an element of the role will be to carry out vertical cleaning duties and will be organised with the Vertical Cleaning Manager.
- Identify any problem areas and opportunities to enhance service by reporting to your Assistant Manager.
- Health & Safety
- Ensure your team has read and understood the SSOW, and that all work is completed in accordance with RAMS, training and Health & Safety guidelines.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture, this includes the reporting of near misses, carrying our toolbox talks, site safety inspections, periodic vehicle checks and audits.
- Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are current, and that work is being carried out in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
- Ensure and breach of company procedures or Health & Safety guidelines is reported immediately.
- Ensure that the appropriate PPE is worn for the task and weather conditions, ensuring that a professional image is maintained at all times.
- Before commencing tasks, ensure that all equipment, including harnesses, ladders, etc are checked for safety, suitability, wear and tear, and that all certificates are valid and has the relevant checks to ensure compliance.
- Check all equipment for safety on completion of the works
- Immediately report
- a. sub-standard or unsafe equipment
- b. near miss or injury sustained whilst carrying out your duties
- c. damage to third party property
- Necessary qualifications, skills and experience
- Experience and understanding of vertical cleaning and access methods (in-depth knowledge of the industry)
- Experience of working at height is essential.
- Proven track record of exceptional Customer service focus and commitment to deliver on promises in full.
- Excellent relationship building skills with a focus on the person as well as the service.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety guidelines, legislation and practices.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to delegate and communicate instructions, information, and knowledge clearly and concisely.
- Organised, methodical, proactive with excellent time management skills
