The Role

Content designers make information easier for people to understand and use. As a Senior Content Designer, you’ll be embedded in one of our in-house, full-stack teams. You’ll lead content strategy, design seamless user journeys, and turn complex policy into clear, accessible information across digital and offline channels. If you’re passionate about making information usable and meaningful—and want to help shape services that truly serve Scotland—this is the role for you.

  • Use evidence, data and research to make content decisions, maintain a content governance process, and champion user-centred design practices, raising the profile of Content Design within RoS.
  • Lead the Content Design Community of Practice to introduce new ideas and processes which can be practically used for the benefit of the whole organisation.
  • Support with the creation of a skills model and learning pathway for Content Design roles.

This job is for you if you want…

  • Work with purpose: we strive to provide the best public service in Scotland and set the bar for land and property registration worldwide.
  • Flexible and hybrid working:, work when and where it’s best for you and your stakeholders, depending on the role and team requirements. We envision that many of the team, community activities and co-design sessions will take place at our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices, for at least a part of each week.
  • Benefits: enjoy pay progression, pension contributions of up to 29%, up to a year’s parental leave, and 38 days annual holiday, increasing to 42 days with length of service.
  • Investment in professional development: we invest in all our people so that they have the right skills to be productive and confident in their job.
