Location Queen\’s University Belfast, Ireland

Job description To undertake teaching and scholarly research, with a focus on Human Geography, and complement existing expertise within the School of Natural and Built Environment. To contribute to School leadership, administration and outreach activities. The successful candidate will be required to deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities in Human Geography at undergraduate and postgraduate taught level. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Primary degree (undergraduate or postgraduate degree) in Geography (or closely related discipline, as appropriate) minimum award 2:1 or equivalent.
  • Hold a PhD in an area of, or cognate to Human Geography
  • Teaching experience in line with stage of career within Human Geography in several core areas, delivered in English at University level.
  • Ability to design course materials and plan, organise the delivery and assessment of taught courses in own specialism in Human Geography, in line with stage of career.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in research methodologies relevant to Human Geography.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
