What you\’ll be doing
Balfour Beatty is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead and oversee a £20 million MEP project. This is a high-impact role that requires strategic leadership, project management expertise, and the ability to drive teams toward successful project completion.
You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution and handover. Your ability to manage contracts, budgets, risk, and stakeholder relationships will be essential in ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Inspire and manage multi-disciplinary teams while aligning project goals with business objectives.
- Project Delivery: Oversee planning, design, execution, and completion, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule adherence.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations while proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
- Procurement & Supply Chain: Develop procurement strategies and manage supplier performance to meet project needs.
- Commercial & Budget Control: Monitor budgets, control costs, and optimize contract performance.
- Digital & Innovation: Promote the use of digital tools and data-driven decision-making for project success.
Who we\’re looking for
- Proven leadership experience in project/contract management.
- Strong understanding of contract law and commercial management.
- Ability to influence, mentor, and drive high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in O365 and project management tools.
- Relevant qualifications in management/construction (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
- APM Certification (desirable).
- CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent).
- A valid UK driving licence.
