Role Overview
We are hiring for Warehouse Operatives to undertake general warehouse duties in Northampton. This is a friendly warehouse team that handles a high volume of customer orders, and you will be an important part of this team helping to ensure that orders are completed on time.
Duties of a Warehouse Operative
- Handling and lifting heavy boxes and bulky items.
- Carrying out a significant amount of manual handling.
- Stacking and wrapping pallets.
- Sorting parcels and organising items efficiently.
- Unloading trailers and ensuring items are stored correctly.
- Adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
- Cleaning and tidying the workspace as required to maintain a safe environment.
Skills and Experience of a Warehouse Operative
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to carry out manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
- Good attention to detail to ensure accurate picking and packing.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive work ethic.
- Ability to always follow health and safety procedures.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends when required.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading labels and completing paperwork.
- Forklift licence (FLT) is an advantage but not required as training may be provided.
