Are you an experienced Design Engineer, with an Electrical & Mechanical bias? Regional Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading manufacturer for an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D Development Team based in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a global organisation, contributing to the design and development of innovative electrical systems.
This role offers long-term career development, exposure to complex electro-mechanical systems, and the opportunity to work on projects from concept through to production within a professional engineering environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and components from concept to production
- Produce 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies (Creo 7.0 or later preferred)
- Apply Design for Excellence (DfX) principles throughout the design process
- Design sheet metal and plastic components for enclosures and electrical systems
- Perform calculations for current carrying capacity, thermal dissipation, and short-circuit performance
- Ensure designs comply with IEC and British Standards (including IEC 61439 and IEC 62208)
- Collaborate with global R&D, manufacturing, and project teams
Requirements
- Experience in electro-mechanical or electrical design engineering
- Strong understanding of DfX methodologies
- Experience with system integration and device design
- Knowledge of sheet metal and plastic component design
- Understanding of thermal dissipation and short-circuit ratings
- Knowledge of IEC and British Standards
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred)
