Electromechanical Design Engineer Wanted - Immediate Start!

Telford | £50-55K per year (DOE)

Are you an experienced Design Engineer, with an Electrical & Mechanical bias? Regional Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading manufacturer for an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D Development Team based in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a global organisation, contributing to the design and development of innovative electrical systems.

This role offers long-term career development, exposure to complex electro-mechanical systems, and the opportunity to work on projects from concept through to production within a professional engineering environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and components from concept to production
  • Produce 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies (Creo 7.0 or later preferred)
  • Apply Design for Excellence (DfX) principles throughout the design process
  • Design sheet metal and plastic components for enclosures and electrical systems
  • Perform calculations for current carrying capacity, thermal dissipation, and short-circuit performance
  • Ensure designs comply with IEC and British Standards (including IEC 61439 and IEC 62208)
  • Collaborate with global R&D, manufacturing, and project teams

Requirements

  • Experience in electro-mechanical or electrical design engineering
  • Strong understanding of DfX methodologies
  • Experience with system integration and device design
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and plastic component design
  • Understanding of thermal dissipation and short-circuit ratings
  • Knowledge of IEC and British Standards
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred)
