Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Principal Engineer/ Associate to join an ambitious, independent consultancy based in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a growing organisation, working on a varied portfolio of highway, infrastructure, public realm and development projects ranging from local highway improvements through to major multi‑million‑pound development schemes for both private and public sector clients.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Extensive experience in highways, infrastructure and drainage design
- Strong understanding of DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, NRSWA and related standards
- Experience with S278, S38 and S104 adoption agreements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civils 3D and drainage modelling software including Causeway Flow
- Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for planning applications
- Good understanding of SuDS, NPPF, PPG and flood risk legislation
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead teams effectively
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to support business development
- Ability to produce clear and accurate technical reports
Desirable
- Chartered status, or working towards Chartership (ICE, CIHT or CIWEM)
- Experience in construction phase supervision and contract management
- Experience preparing fee proposals and bids
- Understanding of Flood Risk Activity Permits and Land Drainage Consent processes
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of highway, infrastructure and drainage projects
- Prepare designs in accordance with current legislation, national standards and best practice
- Manage projects, resources, budgets and programme delivery
- Attend meetings with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities and statutory bodies
- Produce technical reports, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support business growth
