We are looking for an experienced Mortgage Advisor to join an established property and financial services team covering Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mortgage professional who enjoys working directly with customers, providing tailored advice and converting opportunities into completed business.
You will benefit from a strong lead-generation and administrative support structure, allowing you to focus on advising clients, progressing applications and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
The Role
As a Mortgage Advisor, you will guide customers through the mortgage process, from initial enquiry and fact-find through to application and completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed client fact-finds to understand financial circumstances and requirements
- Providing tailored mortgage advice based on individual client needs
- Assessing affordability and reviewing customers' financial positions
- Researching and recommending suitable mortgage products
- Managing applications from initial advice through to completion
- Liaising with lenders, estate agents, solicitors and other professional stakeholders
- Keeping clients updated throughout the mortgage process
- Identifying suitable protection and insurance opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Following up leads and maximising conversion opportunities
- Working towards agreed sales and performance targets
- Maintaining accurate records and compliant client files
- Ensuring all advice is provided in accordance with FCA requirements
- Keeping up to date with changes in the mortgage market, lender criteria and regulatory requirements
About You
We're looking for a confident and customer-focused Mortgage Advisor with proven experience in the UK mortgage market. You should have:
- CeMAP qualification or an equivalent recognised mortgage advice qualification
- Previous experience working as a Mortgage Advisor
- Strong knowledge of the residential mortgage market
- Good understanding of lender criteria and affordability requirements
- Proven ability to manage mortgage applications from advice through to completion
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- Confidence working towards targets and performance objectives
- Strong understanding of FCA compliance and responsible lending requirements
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous depending on the working environment
