Are you an experienced Highways Operative?


Regional Recruitment are recruiting for a Highways Operative / Senior Operative to join Highways East Midlands Ltd, a growing highways maintenance business. This is a site-based role requiring a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider site team. You will support the delivery of high-quality highways and surfacing works across Midlands and nationwide commercial projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in highways or line marking
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CSCS Card
  • NVQ Level 2 in Road Markings (Pavement Marking)

Desirable:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • IPAF, PASMA or Lantra qualifications

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Carrying out road and car park line marking works
  • Applying thermoplastic and MMA products in line with project requirements
  • Supporting car park refurbishment works
  • Undertaking surface preparation and removal works
  • Supporting surfacing and minor civils activities
  • Working as part of a site team to deliver projects safely and efficiently
  • Supporting traffic management activities where required
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and site efficiency
  • Working on nationwide commercial projects and travelling as required
  • Using modern equipment and following company procedures
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other site personnel
  • Being willing to work overtime and night work when required
  • Undertaking any other ad-hoc duties as directed by the company.

Requirements

As a Highways Operative, you will also be expected to:

  • Work reliably and professionally across a range of highways and commercial projects
  • Maintain good communication and organisation throughout each project
  • Take pride in the quality of your work and contribute positively to the wider site team
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and good communication and organisation skills
