We are recruiting for a Permanent Labourer to join a well-established and growing construction-related business based in Burton-on-Trent. This is a hands-on role suited to a reliable, flexible, and hard-working individual who is looking for long-term, secure employment with the opportunity to significantly increase earnings through overtime, weekend work, and bonus schemes.
Duties of a Permanent Labourer
- Assisting with general labouring duties across site and project locations.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Supporting skilled trades and site teams as required.
- Operating basic tools and equipment (training provided where necessary).
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Carrying out manual handling tasks.
- Working extended days of up to 10 hours including travel time.
- Working away from home for up to one week per month, including sharing accommodation when required.
- Working two Saturdays per month as part of the standard rota.
Skills, Experience, and Requirements of a Permanent Labourer
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and be able to drive.
- Have no criminal record, due to work being carried out in prison environments.
- Be able to work days of up to 10 hours including travel time.
- Be flexible to work away from home for at least one week per month and be comfortable sharing accommodation.
- Be available to work two Saturdays per month.
- Be able to commit to the role without requirements for school pick-ups, drop-offs, or childcare accommodations.
In addition, you should have:
- Previous experience in a labouring, construction, or industrial role (preferred but not essential).
- A strong work ethic and willingness to carry out physical work.
- Excellent reliability and timekeeping.
- The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

- A valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one).
