A global business is hiring a Technology Implementation Project Manager to roll their software platform out into new client accounts.

This role sits between the client and the product.

You would own the implementation from the first discovery session through to go live, and you would be the person the client's users learn the system from.

What you would be running

  • Discovery and requirements capture with new clients, mapping how their marketing operation currently works and where the platform needs to flex to fit it.
  • Software specification and configuration requirements for each new client build, developed alongside the Solutions Leads and Product Development.
  • Hands-on configuration covering environment setup, user creation, branding and data ingestion.
  • UAT from planning through to signed-off completion, plus the reporting requirements agreed before anything transfers to Support.
  • Client training, delivered face to face and online, along with internal sessions for the account and project teams.
  • Project documentation, handover packs and helpdesk wiki entries so Support can pick each account up cleanly.
  • The day to day relationship with client stakeholders during implementation, including all user communications.
  • Time, budget and delivery tracking across several concurrent builds.

What they need from you

  • At least 2 years in software implementation, onboarding or technical customer service
  • Direct experience configuring a platform for a client, rather than coordinating the people who do it
  • Business and technical analysis skills: requirements gathering, current state process mapping, specification writing.
  • The confidence to run UAT with client stakeholders and drive it to sign-off.
  • A track record of training end users who did not ask for a new system.
  • Agile SDLC and JIRA, CRM platforms such as MS Dynamics, and a working understanding of web and open source technologies.

Useful but not essential: a formal project management qualification, enterprise clients in regulated sectors, exposure to DAM, MRM or content workflow platforms, localisation at volume.

One thing worth being clear on: this is an implementation role with project management inside it, not the reverse.

Delivery project managers who have owned timelines but never touched a configuration screen are unlikely to be a fit, and the same applies to agency producers.

What counts here is whether you have personally taken a client from discovery through to go live.
