We're working with an award-winning software business that's been leading its market for over 25 years. They're not a startup figuring things out, they're a mature, ambitious product company with a serious engineering function, and they need a Lead Business Analyst who can operate at the same level.

This isn't a role where you turn up, document requirements, and pass them on. You'll be leading BA activity across large, complex projects, mentoring a team of BAs, owning the Discovery phase end-to-end, and sitting at the intersection of customers, developers, designers and scrum teams. If you want proximity to the full product lifecycle and the influence to shape how things get built, this is worth a look.

What this actually is

You'll be the person who brings clarity to complexity. Working in an agile environment, you'll lead requirement elicitation across functional, procedural, process and system needs — translating ambiguity into user stories, process diagrams, wireframes and high-level designs that the whole team can work from. You'll also be the bridge between external customers and internal delivery teams, which means your stakeholder management needs to be as strong as your analytical instincts. You'll challenge where it matters, coach where it's needed, and deputise for the Head of BA when required.

You're the right Lead Business Analyst if you have:

  • Proven leadership experience in a BA capacity — you've guided teams, not just delivered work
  • Extensive experience across large, complex projects from scoping through to delivery
  • Strong agile credentials — user stories, epics, JIRA, SCRUM, acceptance criteria in Gherkin
  • Technical enough to understand back-end systems and translate them for non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with APIs and analysing API/Swagger specifications
  • The stakeholder management skills to hold senior customer and internal conversations with confidence
  • A coaching mindset — you help your team find the answers rather than just handing them out

Bonus for a background in logistics or eCommerce, but it's not a dealbreaker.

The package:

  • c.£65,000 depending on experience
  • Private health insurance (Vitality), BUPA Dental, Group Life Insurance & Income Protection
  • 23 days holiday rising to 26 plus all UK Bank Holidays
  • Up to 10% employer pension contributions
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Flexible working — 35 hour week, flex between 8am–6pm, hybrid with WFH
  • Professional development, mentorship programmes and tuition reimbursement
  • A workplace that 91% of employees describe as genuinely great, backed by external recognition
