The Role
As an Application Support Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in delivering an outstanding customer experience by ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of business-critical software applications. Acting as a technical escalation point, you will support clients, troubleshoot complex issues, and work closely with development, service delivery, and customer operations teams to ensure seamless application performance in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt and effective technical support to customers via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application issues, identifying root causes to minimise downtime.
- Maintain a strong understanding of application functionality, architecture, and integration points.
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Escalate and prioritise bugs, incidents, and enhancement requests in collaboration with development teams.
- Run SQL queries to investigate issues and support data-driven decision making.
- Provide guidance and training to customers to help them maximise value from the software.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an Application Support or Technical Support role.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL databases and ability to run investigative queries.
- Familiarity with incident management tools, ticketing systems, and SLA-driven environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
- ITIL certification or working knowledge (desirable).
