Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse

Overview

The Peninsula Heart Clinic is an independently operated cardiology centre in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Since opening in 2019, care is delivered in a brand new cardiac cath lab with a 5-bed recovery area, 5-chair radial lounge, 3 ensuite bedrooms and extensive outpatient facilities. As part of our planned service expansion, we are recruiting new team members to join our highly skilled Cath Lab team in a brand new, purpose-built facility in the South West.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists as a 2nd operator during diagnostic investigations and procedures carried out in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, and coordinate the services provided within the laboratory and associated day unit.
• Work in a theatre-style environment with scrub and circulating duties; wear lead PPE during procedures.
• Promote and maintain a high standard of nursing care pre- and post cath lab procedures and act as a professional role model.

Qualifications and requirements

• Essential: RN (General) or HCPC registered ODP; 2 years post-registration experience in a Cardiac Catheter Lab.
• Desirable: Intermediate Life Support; Venepuncture and cannulation; Evidence of recent practice development.

• Salary: £30,869 to £46,310 per year (Equivalent to band 5/6 – depending on experience)
• Contract: Permanent
• Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time
