The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People team. The role will initially focus on academic recruitment, supporting the attraction and appointment of high-calibre teaching and academic leadership staff across Regent. Over time, the role will expand to support recruitment across professional services and other specialist functions, offering a varied and developmental recruitment portfolio within a mission-driven education environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for academic roles, including lecturers, programme leaders and senior academic appointments
- Partner with Deans, Heads of School and hiring managers to understand workforce planning and recruitment needs
- Advise stakeholders on recruitment best practice, market conditions and inclusive hiring approaches
- Coordinate job advertising, shortlisting, interviews, offers and onboarding processes
- Build and maintain talent pipelines through proactive sourcing and engagement with academic networks
- Ensure a positive, inclusive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle
- Maintain accurate recruitment data and documentation using the applicant tracking system
- Support employer branding initiatives to promote Regent as an employer of choice
- Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment processes and metrics
- Support recruitment across other areas of the organisation as required
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, either in-house or agency
- Experience managing full recruitment lifecycle processes
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vacancies simultaneously
- Clear understanding of inclusive and fair recruitment practices
- Strong written, verbal and digital communication skills
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools
Desirable Criteria
- Experience recruiting within higher education or the wider education sector
- Knowledge or experience of academic recruitment
- Experience recruiting across a range of role types, including professional services
- Familiarity with employer branding, proactive sourcing or talent pipelining
- Understanding of recruitment within a regulated or compliance-driven environment
