We are seeking a passionate and motivated Lecturer in Mathematics to join our dynamic academic team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching across Mathematics modules within Engineering and Computing programmes, supporting students to achieve their full potential.
About the Role
- Design and deliver engaging teaching sessions (lectures, seminars, tutorials) while creating innovative learning materials that enhance the student experience.
- Act as a Personal Academic Tutor, supporting students throughout their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching across Mathematics modules.
- Develop and maintain engaging learning materials and online resources.
- Set, mark, and provide timely feedback on assessments.
- Monitor student engagement, attendance, and performance.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
- Contribute to quality assurance, programme development, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery.
About You
- A Master’s degree in Mathematics or a relevant subject discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computing or related field).
- Experience in higher education teaching and student engagement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence using digital tools (e.g. VLEs, MS Teams).
- A proactive, flexible, and student-focused approach.
Desirable:
- PhD (or working towards).
- HEA Fellowship (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in research or scholarly activity.
