What You Will Do:
- Own the overall system architecture and requirements
- Produce and iterate CAD models, component designs, and assemblies
- Run virtual testing including CFD, FEA and MATLAB/Python
- Make pragmatic trade-offs across performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability
- Lead hands-on prototyping, hardware testing, and design iteration
- Design for manufacture, installation, and maintenance from day one
- Diagnose and resolve failures — in simulation and on the bench
What We Are Looking For:
- Hands-on problem solver — comfortable building, testing, and fixing hardware yourself
- Strong intuition for tolerances, fits, wear, and failure modes
- Designs with manufacture, installation, and maintenance in mind from the start
- Able to make sound decisions with incomplete data and iterate quickly
- Cost-aware and practical — thrives in a resource-constrained startup environment
