Role Overview

You will design and develop the mechatronic and robotic systems used for turbine installation, module handling, and maintenance. This role focuses on practical automation in uncontrolled environments rather than factory robotics. Regeno is developing a rapidly deployable, modular wind turbine designed for simple installation and ground-level maintenance. We are building a small, hands-on engineering team focused on real hardware, field testing, and practical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechatronic systems for lifting, positioning, and installing wind turbine modules to their designated spot
  • Conduct virtual simulations and design studies on the lift system
  • CAD design, control logic design, component design of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Develop virtual and physical concept solutions that can meet the requirements
  • Specify actuators, servos, motors, sensors, control hardware, and safety systems
  • Integrate mechanical systems with control logic and feedback
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and field trials
  • Design systems to be robust, simple, and reliable in outdoor environments
  • Support safety analysis and fail-safe system design

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience taking hardware systems from concept to field deployment
  • Designs for robustness, simplicity, and real-world conditions, not just ideal scenarios
  • Comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Strong instinct for failure modes, safety, and edge cases
  • Hands-on engineer who builds, tests, and iterates quickly
  • Makes practical trade-offs between performance, cost, and manufacturability
  • Thrives in early-stage, high-ownership environments

Key Skills & Capabilities

  • Mechatronic system design and integration
  • Actuators, sensors, motion systems, and basic control architecture
  • Hands-on prototyping, testing, and debugging
  • Practical approach to automation outside controlled factory settings
  • Strong systems thinking and interface awareness
