The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

The purpose of the role is to provide a high standard of educational, physical, social and emotional care for children, who have experienced domestic abuse, or have had other adverse childhood experiences attending the nursery. In conjunction with the Children's Support Manager, the post holder will support children aged 2-4 years in their learning and development and lead and support others to do the same.

Working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8.15 am to 3.15 pm, the post holder will support the children to achieve positive outcomes in their learning and development by working with the children on a regular and consistent basis and plan and deliver play-based learning. The post holder will also be responsible for recording the children's progress.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A level 2 or 3 in childcare and education or equivalent is essential.
  • Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate, food safety or SEND qualification or willingness to achieve them.
  • Previous experience of working with children with SEND is desired but not essential.
  • An individual who is caring and nurturing and passionate about supporting children who have suffered adverse childhood experiences to achieve and make progress at their own pace.
  • An individual who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, punctual and reliable.
  • Able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team, liaising with other professionals and outside agencies where required.
  • Willingness to learn new strategies and adapt to change when necessary.

The post is subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Checks. Centre 56 are committed to safeguarding children and safer working practices. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (amended 2013 and 2020) and the post holder will be required to make a criminal self-disclosure of any cautions and convictions.
