The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing team based in Barkingside. This role will focus on pricing and tendering works within the social housing sector, with a strong emphasis on fire safety projects.
You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for works including active fire systems, fire compartmentation, and fire door installations, working closely with operational and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for social housing projects
- Price works relating to active fire, fire compartmentation, and fire doors
- Review drawings, specifications, and schedules of works
- Build up costs for labour, materials, subcontractors, and preliminaries
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Support tender submissions and commercial handovers
- Work closely with project and operations teams to ensure accurate pricing
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Estimator within social housing
- Proven experience estimating active fire, fire compartmentation, and fire door works
- Strong understanding of social housing maintenance and compliance works
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Confident using estimating and Microsoft Office software
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist fire contractor
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards within social housing
